Day of the Dead Festival with Latin women owned makeup brand "Reina Rebelde"

The city of Dallas hosted its first Día de Los Muertos Parade and Festival in downtown. It was a historical event and the largest of its kind. Joining talents with Latin women owned makeup brand Reina Rebelde, based in Dallas, was a great experience. After creating their images for their Día de los Muertos Campaign, we created a Catrina experience for the attendees of the first Day of the dead festival in Downtown Dallas.

Backstage in collaboration with Latin women owned cosmetic brand Reina Rebelde created a great Dia de los Muertos experience for all the attendees. Backstage Reinas (our makeup artists in charge of doing day of the dead makeup during the event) painted Catrinas designs using Reina Rebelde´s products. From kids to adults they are all enjoying the festivities and celebrating our traditions. Our artist painted around 100 faces during the festival.

Another part of the experience was a Catrina makeup demonstration by me while booth visitors hanged out enjoying the music and being surrounded by participants dressed in full Catrina attire. I created 2 Catrina makeup using Reina Rebelde´s products. The first one was a combination of glam and Dia de los Muertos: smokey eyes and the bottom of the face as a Catrina. The second look was a traditional Catrina design with red, white, and black. *Check gallery below

At Backstage, we are very proud to be part Reina Rebelde´s values and come together to celebrate our traditions. The Dia de los Muertos brought us together and the festival was the icing on the cake of this collab. We look forward to work with Reina Rebelde´s team in the near future because when women support each other, great things happen.
